Fucking Magickal!

I just went to the most magickal market place EVAR! I keep find little gems, here in Sin City. I ran into a Latin market, not sure if that’s even what you would call it, but I’m in love! It’s a little far from where I live, but I think it’s worth the commute.  As soon as I step foot in the store, I felt like I was whisked away to some tropical Hispanic country, like Puerto Rico.  The vibe was so uplifting, there were even trees in the store and piñata’s hanging from the vaulted ceilings.  The product section was phenomenal, I’m a bit weirded out by produce that’s shipped from other areas because I feel like it loses it’s energy during travel, but I live in the desert and have to make the most of what’s available to me.  Everything looked good and fresh, I even found out they make their own sour cream, not exactly what that entails, but I didn’t get sick after eating it so that speaks volumes.

Another things I recently found on accident was “Mexican Cornbread,” at least that’s what the gal at La Bonita (another Latin grocer) called it when I asked what it was.  I did a little more “research” and found out that it’s called pan de elote.  Well every time I go to La Bonita, they’re always out of it, they make it fresh in store.  Cardenas — yeah, forgot to mention the name of this store — they make it as well, but you can get a big pan (in the picture towards the front of the wagon).  I could not wait to try it, and it was as good as La Bonita’s, a little on the firmer side but still really delicious.  Anyway, better run, the kids get out of school in a couple hours and after running around and eating, I still need to get my domestic goddess on and clean this house.
